Bug Description

In dapper Flight2 and Flight3, my mergedfb configuration that worked well in breezy is broken.

In fact the second head appears immediatly as a clone of the first. I see no significant error messages in Xorg.0.log.

I join my xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log.breezy Xorg.0.log.dapper3.

might be related to #14044 and #18969 though I don't use any GL or SDL application, the screen is put in clone mode as soon as X is started.

Virtually the screen is merged because the mouse cursor is not stopped on the right side of the screen, it goes on a virtual right screen, but the real right screen is clone of the left.

Actually, that is only one of the upstream bug reports.
this:

Is another, and the bug is allegedly fixed in CVS. I would aprechiate it if you patched the ubuntu-tree and upgraded xorg-driver-ati for dapper.

Same problem here with a Radeon R250 Lf [FireGL 9000] (rev 01).

Also, which seems to be very related. In my setup (laptop panel at 1400x1050 and external LCD at 1280x1024) the second display ignores any resolution and it is always fixed to the laptop LCD 1440x1050 resolution.
