I'm using mageia linux 7, duplicity-0.8.12.1612-1.mga7.x86_64 and python-2.7.17-1.1.mga7.x86_64
As stated above, during incremental restore it looks like each part for the restore is spawned (gpg) and after finishing not closed, so the number of processes increases until "FD_SETSIZE" is reached, which is a fixed limit in c/c++ set to 1024 processes in select. (my assumption)
