@tx9515 - the old issue with Ghostscript installed via MacPorts and Inkscape 0.46-2 and 0.47-pre1 on OS X Leopard that you refer to is completely unrelated to your problem and this report (bug #453931). Try rebooting your system once or two times - most users report that Inkscape starts without error after that.
