How is "everything already on disk" when the disk hasn't even been partitioned yet? My point is that for a fresh new install, everything is already out of date. This will be even more evident after the final release *because* the releases will be much more spaced out, leaving more time for other packages (within the ubuntu base as well as directly mythbuntu) to be updated.

Personally, I don't see the harm in adding the option to install updated packages. BUT, I also don't know if this would be a programing nightmare to implement. If that is the reason for not doing it, then I can understand marking it down to a low priority. BUT, I don't see why it should be totally ruled out...
