Should be fixed in branch 7.0 as of revision <email address hidden>
The feedback isn't faster (can't really be if the network is slow, we've got to wait for server answers) *but* the autocompletion list now closes while fetching new completion items, which should preclude validation of a *previous* completion if a search is rapidly validated after typing stuff in.
