The above fix was released at the 11th hour for Stein, and Michele verified that it fixes the problem for him. We'll need to backport it at least to Rocky since it's also been reported there, but at least going forward this should no longer be a problem.

There's still a followup patch in the works to move away from this hacky solution and start using pymemcache, but at this point I'm not sure we'll be able to do that for Stein. Planning to discuss it more in the Oslo meeting on Monday.
