Written for PeaZip-archiver by Giorgio tani on 2016-07-23
Release 6.1.0 is focused in improving archive browsing experience.
If some or all directories are omitted in archive TOC, it is no longer an issue for the archive browser, which now also displays archive's full directory tree in navigation sidebar, allowing quick navigation and on-the-fly inspection of archive structure and content.
The breadcrumb shows in-archive directories at each node, consistently with what it does for filesystem.
Initial directory can be customized: last visited (default), computer's root, desktop, home, or custom directory set by the user.
PeaZip 6.0.0 released
Written for PeaZip-archiver by Giorgio tani on 2016-02-28
The new PeaZip major release consolidates and further improves the many updates of the over-two-years long 5.x line history:
- full cross-platform Unicode-awareness for archive management (including PEA format) and file management functions, thanks to new Lazarus 1.6 / FreePascal 3.0 IDE
- improved file manager and more readable archiving/
Release 6 comes with updated 7z 15.14 / p7zip 15.09 backend with faster and improved 7z compression (LZMA2 as default algorithm, sort by type for solid compression), and full support to new RAR5 format both in Windows and Linux without resorting to external non-Free Software components.
Other improvements are the ability of delete / secure delete open archive, and to recursively extract archives from path - unlike most archivers, PeaZip lists archives sent to extraction to allow double-checking and refining the selection before starting the operation.
