Pogo adds search

Written for Pogo by Jendrik Seipp on 2010-12-01

The third version of Pogo (0.3) has been released. You can now search for your music inside Pogo. The search will include the folders below the separator in the file browser. To add more music folders, right-click on empty space in the file browser. It is now possible to open the folders and files in your external file browser (e.g. nautilus) from the context menu.

Even faster? Oh yeah!

This is the second Pogo release. We have cranked the knobs to make Pogo even faster. It loads faster and adding files via drag'n'drop is a breeze now, too. You can now append files to Pogo by using the context menu in nautilus or naming the files on the commandline (pogo mytrack.mp3). This version has also gained MPRIS support. Track events are now sent out via DBus. The volume button is no longer present since it only duplicates the functionality of the sound indicator.
Ladies and Gentlemen, do the pogo!

Another Linux audio player?

Written for Pogo by Jendrik Seipp on 2010-10-06

Who would have thought the world needed another Linux audio player? Well it did and Pogo might just be the one to fix that. It is very fast, simple to use and needs very little screen space. Pogo is targeted at people with album based music collections on their harddrive. It has the essential audio player features and doesn't try to play your videos or do your laundry. There are however some features, that distinguish Pogo from the rest of the competition: A playlist that groups albums, so tracks are easier to find and less space is occupied. Covers are automatically downloaded and displayed inside the playlist. Other goodies include desktop notifications and an equalizer. Are you ready to pogo?
