Bug Description

With the per-user package listings for dapper fixed and in place, people are starting to use it more, as it shows everything, and in order of translation priority.

The translators know what to translate by looking at the bars: if they see red, there's stuff to translate. However, if the template is nearly fully translated, except it lacks a few strings, the colour bars are not the best indicator.

I suggest we use yet another colour when translations are completely up to date (lighter green? might conflict with a11y) or some other visual indication so people can identify up to date templates from those missing just a few strings.

Absolutely right about this... How about a new collumn with the number of remaining unstranslated/not reviewed strings? Just a suggestion...

Cheers,

Use stripes. Geen/white (or other high-contrast combination that would be a11y safe) for example :-)

high-contrast works to very health eyes, in my case it keeps being difficult to see. I use glasses and have trouble with some colors.
just my 10 cents

Yep, that fancy colored bar and per-cent messages are not really informative. I suggest to combine the columns Length/Status in a simple text column with the title(alt-meassage) like Length:Translated/Untranslated/Pending using a number of messages per category (e.g. 200:120/0/80) or something similar. Of course, different colors still can be used for numbers :)

I think this is fixed already, we changed the form a bit some months ago so we show the remaining strings to translate. Feel free to comment here again if you think that something else should be done.

I do not see any improvements concerning indication for amount of actually ranslated messages/strings. Take, for example, this page https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+lang/ru/ "status" column. One can find out what was done by Length field + the colorbar (of course, there is an alt-message but it is in percents).

The only change I see is split of the whole range of packages list into chunks of 75 items per page. Do I miss something here?

The overview of languages per distribution already has a column for this, called "Todo." We can do the same here.
