This release represents over a month of development, as background support was merged into the main Quill branch some time after the last release.
Quill 0.9.0 brings support for various backgrounds for each page. These include PDF backgrounds (if Quill is compiled with Poppler support, the default), solid color backgrounds (including the white default), and image-based backgrounds (currently the way to do notebook-paper-like backgrounds). The background framework is easily extensible, so support for a dedicated notebook-paper background renderer, for example, is likely.
Along with background support, this release also brings a settings framework, including some preliminary settings for most tools and for configuring the backgrounds of new documents and pages. It also brings a working ...
