SchoolTool 2012 Planning Meetings

The SchoolTool development team held our annual planning meetings the week of February 6 in Arlington, Virginia. The main goal was to design a new implementation of CanDo, a competency tracking component for SchoolTool developed at the Arlington Career Center and used throughout Virginia.

The ACC's David Welsh organized a series of meetings with a variety of users and stakeholders from around the state. The new version will use SchoolTool's new UI design, a more robust data model that tracks student progress over time within and across courses, and a much more flexible system to organize and import standards, competencies and standards from any jurisdiction.

The upcoming changes will be tested in Arlington this summer and included for all users in the October 2012 release of SchoolTool.
