Thanks for your bug Gholi - I don't think you're doing anything wrong.
I can confirm this bug by looking at page 30 of the Ubuntu server guide, section 3.4. 'Logs' where the example from a log file clearly has part of the IP address cut off.
In the PDF guide it is:

In the HTML guide it is:
