If you are using libgpod 0.3.2-1-1build1 you must have something in $(IPOD_MOUNT_POINT)/iPod_Control/Device/SysInfo ... aka, it cannot be empty. Today, on edgy, we are still using libgpod 0.3.2-1-1build1.
If libgpod (>= 0.4) is included into edgy, then the empty SysInfo problem will no longer apply.
You will often get an empty SysInfo file when upgrading your iPod's firmware to 1.2.x.
