I also get the message when I log in remotely through nx:

"Assistive technology has been requested for this session, but the accessibility registry was not found. Please ensure that the AT-SPI package is installed. You session has been started without assistive technology support."

But I don't get it with vnc.

Here is what I get when I try to reinstall at-spi with the Synaptic Package Manager:
