Comment 2 for bug 115103

When a library releases a non-bug-fix update after an Ubuntu release, is the official Ubuntu policy that it will not be updated until the next Ubuntu release? That is to say, except for bug fixes, the package versions that are in Ubuntu release X are the only package versions that will ever be in the Ubuntu release?

Also, this page about the package in gutsy still describes the package version as 1.33.1 even though the source package appears to be 1.34.0:
