Comment 9 for bug 136396

I know its not much help, but I have exactly the same laptop and have had the same problem. I looked around loads of forums for an answer but to no avail. Maybe its something to do with the xserver (i guess) as it fails to recognize the laptop screen properly, or do you think its Gnome/Compiz?
