where Ubuntu ISO production had to add a MBR partition of type 0x00 with
boot flag for getting some buggy BIOS implementations to work again.
This boot flag partition is what slows down the boot process on the machines
which are reported at this bug (1922342).
If the need arises for discussing with me, then please on this bug report.
Hi,
following sudodus' advice i found /discourse. ubuntu. com/t/install- ubuntu- desktop/ 25312 /ubuntu. com/tutorials/ install- ubuntu- desktop# 4-boot- from-usb- flash-drive
https:/
matching
https:/
but the "Sign Up" button first urges me to enable JavaScript (booh !)
and then says my browser is too old for its "rich content".
I could probably work around, but this is a demand which i only accept
from my local tax authorities (teeth-gnashingly).

@Chris Guiver:
On my way to that discourse page i came to /discourse. ubuntu. com/t/create- a-bootable- usb-stick- on-ubuntu/ 14011 /discourse. ubuntu. com/t/install- ubuntu- desktop/ 25312
https:/
where i see comments from "guiverc".
So, i assume that you can point the participants of
https:/
to my summary in
https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ casper/ +bug/1922342/ comments/ 125
Better warn them that the overall thread is long and full of wrong
theories. But meanwhile the diagnosis is clear.
As background you can point to
https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu- cdimage/ +bug/1886148
where Ubuntu ISO production had to switch from MBR partition table to
GPT partitioning, because some buggy EFI implementations need it,
and to

Have a nice day :)
