Thanks. Being new to Ubuntu it took me some time to realise that the plugin
had to be uninstalled using the Synaptics package manager. I tried
installing the icedtea-java plugin as you suggested but got a 'bad
signature' error. The Sun plugins also refuse to get installed. Anyway, I
will try again later.
Overall Ubuntu does not yet give me the confidence to switch over completely
from Windows.
