Ubuntu 14.04, latest updates, latest Nvidia driver, MSI Gaming G45 MB, i7 4470k CPU, Nvidia GTX770, most annoying flickering in terminal, some other applications also affected. VLC runs w/o problems.

System is almost unusable for any serious work :-(
