I just tested both (x86 & amd64) of the lubuntu-alt iso's again today and they both failed in the same place in the same way. The only difference that I see is that in the last line of the screenshot attached above it says:
partman-crypto: kernel entropy_avail: 447 bits
In todays tests the last line ends with 410 bits on the amd64 VM, and 674 bits in the x86 VM.
I am running these tests in Vbox VM's that have 2G RAM and 20G HDD's
