I just discovered the checkbox for widescreen monitors. This made 1440x900 available in the drop-down menu. But setting the secondary screen (LCD TV) to 1360x768, AND checking the widescreen box, the only options available are (screenshot attached):

800x600
1280x720
1280x768

How are these resolutions determined? It feels very arbitrary to me!
