This package is still missing some encoding codecs.
At least it is still missing AAC and MP3 encoders.
Might be a different package i'm thinking of though...

ffmpeg -formats | grep aac gives:

D aac raw ADTS AAC

aac has no encoding enabled.

because of this, vlc cannot encode very much audio...
