Just an observation, if you press "esc" when that comes up, I get the extra "/" after "http://" and I found that if you select a URL from the list and press enter or you press tab to select it, it automatically applied the extra "/" after the .com, .edu, .gov, etc. It might be that it thinks esc is auto completing the url like tab or enter does and places the "/" after what it thinks is a url in the line.
