The behavior appeared almost like a sigkill sent to gdm...then gdm
respawning. (this is what it appeared as)

There's nothing in /var/crash

The actions that seemed to correlate with the behavior seemed to be when
moving between firefox tabs. I wish there was a ringbuf that had all of the
last actions captured...

The behavior started occurring within the last month. No problems were
observed in the previous 3-4 months.
