Since FF 3.5 unfortunately broke my own little extension (attachment 243585), I hunted around and found "Advanced Address Bar" at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9450

This allows you to freely configure the Shift-, Ctrl- and Alt- behavior in the urlbar, which is really great! Until now, it does not officially support FF 3.5, but it works if you make it compatible using MR Tech Toolkit https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/421
