I apologize, I was not clear at all. Does 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12.2 (in gutsy-updates) fix your problem? I say this because this version was published on 2008-02-07, and probably built later, after any references to the existence of the bug.

If it was not fixed with that package, could you provide the output of the Terminal, if upgraded through apt-get. Using installed version 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12, run sudo apt-get update, and then sudo apt-get upgrade. Paste the output as a comment/

sideshownick refers to the old version of the package. Could you please specify? I would assume you mean 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12. If so, then I believe this should have been fixed by 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12.2 as this would be the install error when the old tar is still on the hard disk.
