Or perhaps I shouldn't wait... ;-) I think I'm getting closer to the answer here:
I was playing a bit with the startup order of the scripts and I found out: if I remove '/etc/rc2.d/S98mountnfs' everthing works fine.
My nfs filesystem is mounted anyway (I gave it the auto option).
Also, I think a reinstall would eventually leave me with the same problem, because I will configure my system as it is now...
