@NoOp: An alias is fine, unless you are using Alt-F2 to run the command.

But don't set gksudo to 'gksudo gksudo', because only gedit has this problem. Rather set another name. I have created an executable file called ggedit in my path (~/bin), and it contains just one line:

gksudo gksudo gedit "${@}"
