In any event don't see this changing in 12.04 > 13.04 so users should
live with or find alt. means, - nano, vim, switch to pkexec, a ppa,
ect.(I use pkexec here in 12.04 thru 13.10 with no issue
13.04 users, if inclined, can upgrade to gedit 3.8 in the gnome3 ppa
