A darcs developer has confirmed that the updated darcs is fixed.

Please proceed with making the fixed darcs binary available.

Again, thanks so much for this!

I plan to release a blog post soon highlighting the ease of installing darcs 2 on Ubuntu, and I have been waiting on this fix to do that.
