I can confirm that this problem still exists on gutsy final.
System is a iBook / ppc.
When i move a file to trash it will be moved to ~/.Trash correctly but neither a click on the Trash icon in the left bar in nautilus nor a Go->Location->Trash: shows something in the Trash.
