Well I've run into the same problem no longer than yesterday and as a matter of fact some minutes ago

ssh <email address hidden> .. fails with:

debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277
Agent admitted failure to sign using the key.

SSH_AUTH_SOCK=0 ssh -v <email address hidden> .. succeeds with:

....
