Comment 20 for bug 34233

thanks. guess i need to look elsewhere -- the lid state seems to be working correctly, and more experimentation shows that dpms isn't working whether the lid is open or shut.

(to be clear -- the built-in screen powers down correctly, immediately, when the lid is closed, but the external monitor never does.)
