Those lines aren't blank. They're horizontal separators. Unfortunately those horizontal separator lines are so faint you can hardly notice them. Maybe on some monitors they're not visible at all. I can see them but honestly didn't notice they existed until today!

So I think the colours in our theme for separator lines might need improving, but that's a minor theme issue.
