I had upgraded from Fedora Workstation 26 to 27. I don't remember whether this happened to me before the upgrade, but it certainly happened after.
I remember that it was happening a bit before GUADEC, so I'd figure I'd try and find someone there to fix it.
It stopped happening right before GUADEC, when I reinstalled my machine. (the day I was supposed to take the plane, I run an unfortunate `rm -rf /` and had to reinstall and restore my data from backup)
So I guess this isn't a recent regression, but something old which just doesn't happen for most people?
