I just noticed this : if the cdrom if inserted before I log into Gnome (ie before I type my user/password in GDM), then it is mounted on the desktop...
Then I can eject it, but if I insert it again (while logged in Gnome), it won't be mounted. If I then log out from gnome, and log in again, CD will be mounted.
Maybe it has something to do with wrong permissions ???
