Literally tens of thousands of bugs were resolved during the 8.04 cycle, but
unfortunately it simply isn't possible to tend to every request, and Ubuntu
developers (rightly) prioritize regressions and serious bugs over feature
requests like this one.

We appreciate the effort which has gone into preparing a patch to add this
functionality, and it has not been forgotten.
