Tried that, even changed (hd0,1) to (sd0,0), then it gave a new error, "Error 23(?) - **error parsing numbers**. The hard disk is a 40gb ide pata on the same channel as the DVD/CDRW drive. Structure is so:

/dev/sda1 WINXP ntfs 21.2GB Active partition with win xp prof installed
/dev/sda4 SWAP linux-swap 407MB My swap
/dev/sda2 Extended partition
     /dev/sda5 DATA ntfs 5.16GB
     /dev/sda6 /home ext3 4.41GB
/dev/sda3 / ext3 5.45GB

Don't know what to do.
