Still not working here with
grub-pc Version 1.99~rc1-13ubuntu3.

Console mode leads to the error message,
graphic terminal and "workaround" setting "GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480" also doesn't work.

It looks like all effected use a notebook?
And a big part of them ATI mobile graphic? With AGP?
