I would like to thank you for helping me with the problem. Your suggested fix has worked. I copy in below the first few lines of the file as you have requested. I have also taken out all community maintained universes that are not supported.

In case you care, I am trying to understand what I can about Ubuntu because I may be able to help a little with the "bug report #1". After I get a level of comfort with what the desktop can do, I'm considering a target of 1000+ desktops deployment initially . I have ability to further influence decissions about 50,000+ desktops. It is not an ideological point of view but rather a practical one :-))
