Uhm, am I missing something? Instead of trying to find the perfect behavior that will please everyone (which IMO will never happen) why not make it customizable? There wouldn't be many things to customize and they wouldn't have many options. Defaults will probably (still) be an issue but not as critical. Anyway isn't customizability the selling point of KDE?
