Actually we have to. And plasmoid UI _will_ change (*) it is just a matter whether it will be done at who-cares-now moment, or when such change makes a difference.
(*) simply because current UI is an obstacle for a given task and it doesn't scale up with new technologies. Look at the Surface -- sliders? handle toolboxes? No! You want to rotate an object, you rotate the object. You want to move the object you move the object. _Natural_.
We won't get new breed of human, we won't stop development of hardware. It is better to admit a mistake and change it now, than pity oneself in 3 years "who would know" -- a lot of KDE users know, competition knows.
