In /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop and /usr/share/applications/gnome-settings-mouse.desktop the translations for pt and pt_BR are ok.

The problem seems to be related to gettext.

A temporary solution would be to delete the line
“X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-terminal” (and “X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-control-center-2.0″ for the mouse)

The strange thing is that other applications that have different translations in pt and pt_BR are ok.
