I can confirm this, staring lanmap with svg as output shows a lot of warnings

$ sudo lanmap -i eth0 -r 30 -T svg -o /tmp/
Warning: "/usr/share/lanmap//graph/img/cloud.svg" was not found as a file or as a shape library member
Warning: No or improper shapefile="/usr/share/lanmap//graph/img/cloud.svg" for node "Outside"

Warning: No or improper shapefile="/usr/share/lanmap//graph/img/bridge.svg" for node "134810864"
...

When you look at the .svg file lanmap creates, all the pictures are missing. Using lanmap out of the gutsy repos here.
