I can confirm that this bug still exists and appears also when libvirt+qemu-kvm is used.

Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
libvirt-bin: 1.3.1-1ubuntu10.1
qemu-kvm: 1:2.5+dfsg-5ubuntu10.4

The provided patch fixes this issue.
