I'm also still experiencing this problem.
Thunderbird suddenly segfaults after a while.

When that happens, I can't start it again (constant segmentation faults) unless I wait about an hour or so.

I can start thunderbird in safe mode.

I also use the google calendar lightning plugin.

I've already tried re-installing thunderbird with no effect.
