For me too, sound was low on an ASUS P5GZ-MX.

I had to bought a cheap audio amplifier for sound to be loud enough.
But I was earing it, although low volume before.
I note that my audio amplifier have 4 ohm impedance, and earplug generally have 32 ohms I think.

I also see that my amixer file have more information than yours.
