I think Manoj meant to point you there as patch is available in that package because it has an updated compat-wireless stack as of 2009-03-24. Also see https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/318360/comments/14 from Vassily who has confirmed the linux-backports-modules-jaunty packages resolves the issue for him.
@Vassily, it is not likely this patch will be pulled into the main kernel source, so please continue to us the linux-backports-modules-jaunty package. Thanks.
