I have exactly the same problem as Teo, and the pci=nommconf fix works for me too. (Thanks!)

I'm running an up-to-date Dapper (as of June 22, 2006) on a custom-built desktop pc with an Intel 64bit Pentium 4 CPU.
If I replace the 2.6.15-25 kernel with 2.6.15-10 the boot-time kernel panic goes away. All newer kernels listed by grub fail.
