Comment 2 for bug 115505

By chance I found someone in #ubuntu with exactly the same problem on a Dell Latitude of a similar type and age. I asked them to add a comment here, and also report their results of trying with an older kernel (e.g. 6.06LTS, 6.10) but they may not ever do so. However, I do now have confirmation that I am not the only person to see this problem.
